Frequently asked questions

What is your music like?

Our music consists of both contemporary songs and hymns which are filled with truths about who God is and what He has done. Jesus, not music gets center stage.

What are your affiliations?

Our church is a member of the GARBC. We are involved the the GARBC largely at a state level. This is not a denomination. Our members alone make decisions for our church and decide who to affiliate with. We also are connected with and support the Iowa Regular Baptist Camp, Faith Baptist Bible College and various missions boards.

What Bible translation do you use?

The preaching is currently out of the NKJV Bible, but you will find various other translations among our people. It is important that we use a strongly literal, formal (word-for-word) translation of the Bible. In our congregation you will find a few KJV, ESV, NASB and NIV translations in use.

Legalism or grace?

This is a very important question. If you are a born-again Christian you are in God’s perfect favor. Ephesians 1:6 says, “To the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved.” You are in God’s favor and you can’t add to that by following extra steps not seen in Scripture and, praise the Lord, that favor cannot be taken away when you make a misstep!

What are your core beliefs?

Salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone, according to Scripture alone, and to the glory of God alone.

After salvation Christians are called to follow Jesus and become lifelong disciples of Him. We would love to shepherd you through this process.

Our church deeply believes in prayer and is convinced that any thing good thing in our church is a direct result of prayer. We depend on Him alone!
