Biblical Hope for Life’s Hardest Problems

Free and confidential | Pastor Matt Read, ACBC Certified Counselor

What Is Biblical Counseling?

At Liberty Baptist Church, we believe God’s Word is sufficient and powerful to bring hope and lasting change to every area of life. Biblical counseling is built on this conviction — that real transformation happens when God’s truth is applied to the real struggles of the heart.

Whether you’re battling anxiety, anger, addiction, fear, depression, conflict, or grief, Scripture speaks directly to your need and offers true help through Jesus Christ. Our goal is not simply to help you feel better, but to help you know God better and find peace and direction through His Word.

What to Expect

  • Free or Donation-Based Counseling — There is no cost. We offer biblical counseling as a ministry to our community.

  • Confidential Setting — Everything shared is handled with care and discretion.

  • Bible-Centered Help — Every session is grounded in Scripture and prayer.

  • Personalized Care — We’ll walk with you step-by-step toward spiritual and practical growth.

Sessions typically last about 60 minutes and are scheduled weekly or biweekly as needed. You don’t have to be a member of our church to receive help — this ministry is open to anyone in the community who desires hope and direction from God’s Word.

Our Hope

The ultimate hope for every person is not found in changing circumstances but in knowing Jesus Christ. Through Him, we find forgiveness, wisdom, and peace that the world cannot give. The Bible promises:

“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” — Matthew 11:28 (NKJV)

Our desire is to help you experience that rest through the truth and grace of the gospel.

Testimonials

  • "As a Baptized Christian I found myself so frustrated with the fact that I struggled with certain sinful behaviors. In a world full of secular wisdom I didn't know what to believe. I crossed paths with an amazing pastor who offered his services, all good things come from God and this was most certainly from the Lord. Having a safe place to open up was a game changer. Awkward at first, but once I was able to open I was able to gain much insight and wisdom with the help of the Holy Spirit and a Mature Brother in Christ. I've learned about idols of the heart. I’ve developed biblical based techniques to implement Christ like thinking and have even gained insight into crippling sinful habits such as my use of THC products and management of negative feelings such as rage. I've been able to be a better husband to my wife and a better member of the worldwide Christian congregation. If anybody you know is suffering encourage them to seek help from a Christ following counselor."

    Man, 20s

  • "I met with Matt for counseling for around 8 weeks. He offered to help when I started pastoring. Matt listens attentively, and offers biblical guidance for the issues discussed. He speaks truthfully to concerns, but with love. Despite secondary theological differences, Matt treated me with respect, dignity, and love. I hope to not need biblical counseling again in the future, but if I ever do, Matt will be my first contact!"

    Man, 30s

  • “We came in on the edge of giving up on our marriage. Week after week, Scripture reshaped how we saw forgiveness and love. God truly restored what we thought was gone.”

    Married Couple, 40s

“Weeping may endure for a night,
But joy comes in the morning.”
— Psalm 30:5
